Parent Connect December 14th

This Friday, December 18^th marks the end of 2^nd Quarter and the beginning of Christmas break. Classes dismiss at 12:00 noon. There will be no aftercare.

Second quarter report cards will be distributed Friday, January 8^th.

This Friday evening, December 18^th, will be our school Christmas service, “Did You Know?” presented at 6:30 p.m. in the recital hall at the UAA Fine Arts Building. This is a school function where the students will be presenting the service. All Faith students are expected to be in attendance. The students put much time and effort into preparing for this special opportunity to share their Christmas joy with you! Plan to enjoy this special worship opportunity with your family as part of your Christmas celebrations. Invite family and friends to join us! Students should by at the UAA Fine Arts building by 6:15 p.m. to prepare.

There will be no school classes from Monday, December 21^st through Friday, January 1^st. School classes will resume Monday, January 4^th. May God bless your family’s Christmas celebrations.

Bake Sale!

Parents, Teachers, and Friends (PTF) will be sponsoring a bake sale to benefit the school on Friday, December 18^th at noon (right after school) and Sunday, December 20^th before the worship service.  We can still use donations! Please text Tina Henry (240-0623) with what you will be bringing if you are able to make a donation.

Grades 3-5 will be visiting the Loussac Library on Wednesday, December 16^th. Students are reminded to bring their library cards and any books that are due.

Toddler Time meets this Wednesday, December 16^th from 10 to 11 a.m. Parents with children ages 0-5 are invited to this hour of educational activities, structured play and a snack. For more information contact Mrs. Cara Ewings at 907-792-9388.

Junior Choir meets this week on Wednesday, December 16^th at 12:20 p.m.

Handchime Choir meets Thursday, December 16^th at 12:30 p.m.

Advent Soup Supper and Worship

This Wednesday, December 16^th, we invite you to join us for our soup supper and midweek Advent service at 7:00 p.m.   The supper begins at 6:00 p.m.  We ask that you bring your favorite soup or salad to share. Bread or desserts are also welcome.  Don’t worry if you are unable to bring anything, come and join us anyway! We look forward to seeing you there.

You are invited to join us for our weekly school chapel service this Thursday, December 17^th, from 8:30 to 9:00 a.m. Families and friends are invited to come and join us in starting our day with the Lord.

Hot Lunch this Thursday, December 18^th !

The PTF ladies and 8^th graders will be serving that traditional Christmas favorite, chicken noodle soup, with ham or turkey sandwiches, fruit, and dessert! Please return the attached note if your child will be taking hot lunch. 

Parents if you would like to join your child for hot lunch please complete the hot lunch slip.

Advent Devotions

Attached please find this week’s Advent Devotions. (We are still waiting for our devotional booklets to arrive. We will get them out to families as soon as we can.)  We hope that you are finding these devotions and the Advent wreath we sent home last week useful in your family’s preparations during this Advent season. It is our hope that every family in our school family takes the opportunity to spend time together around God’s Word in devotion and prayer as we prepare to celebrate Christ’s birth.

Christmas for Kids

This Saturday, December 12^th from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. in the Faith fellowship hall is Christmas for Kids. Parents can drop off their children ages 3 (must be potty trained) to 10 years old for crafts, singing, snacks, games, and the true story of Christmas. Contact Cara Ewings at 792-9388 for more information or to volunteer to help.

Advent for Families

This next Sunday evening, December 13^th from 6-7 p.m. Faith Lutheran Church and School would like to invite your family to our third Advent for Families activity as we make a Christmas wall hanging together. All materials for the craft will be provided to each family. There will be refreshments, and we will have with an Advent devotion together.

All are welcome!

Congratulations to our Huskies boys’ and girls’ basketball teams for their hard work and sportsmanship at the ACSAA tournament this last weekend. The boys’ team took second place in the tournament. Both boys and girls played their hardest and let their lights shine. We are proud of you!

Pastor Robbert from King of Kings in Wasilla will lead our chapel service this week. Our current mission offering is designated for Jesus Cares Ministries.

Toddler Time is an hour of educational activities, structured play and a snack for children ages 0-5 and their caregivers. Toddler Time meets Wednesdays from 10-11 a.m. in the Faith fellowship hall. For more information contact Mrs. Cara Ewings at 907-792-9388.

On Saturday, December 12^th the Junior Choir will sing for Shepherd of the Hills worship here at Faith at 5:00 p.m. Choir members should be at Faith by 4:45 p.m. to prepare.
