The teachers and staff of Faith Lutheran
School would like to express their thanks to the students, parents, and PTF for
their fantastic meals, the parent recess and lunch assistance, and generous gifts
during Teacher Appreciation Week.
It has been an
honor and a privilege to serve you this school year. Thank you for being a
blessing to us!
Congratulations to
the Huskies Track Team for their efforts and success at the ACSAA State Track
Meet on Saturday. We’re proud of you! Our elementary girls’ and our junior
high boys’ teams both took 2nd place, and our elementary boys’ team
placed 3rd.
The students of Mrs. Zarnstorff, Mrs.
Schneck, and Mrs. Ewings will be presenting a piano recital this Wednesday, May
11th at 4:30 p.m.
All are invited to come and enjoy this showcase of the students’ progress and
achievement in the past year. Light refreshments will be served following the
recital.
You are invited to
join us for our weekly school chapel service this Thursday, May 12th,
from 8:30 to 9:00 a.m. Families and friends are invited to come and join us in
starting our day with the Lord!
Faith Lutheran will have a booth at the
Reading Rendezvous this Saturday, May 14th from noon to 4:00 p.m. at
the Loussac Library. We
can use volunteers to help prepare the craft materials and run the booth. Are
you available and willing to help out? Please contact Mrs. Schneck if you are
interested.
On Friday, May 13th the
students of preschool through 8th grade will present Faith Lutheran
School’s Spring Fling musical, “It’s Cool
in the Furnace” at 6:30 p.m. at the Mainstage Theater of the UAA Fine Arts
Building. Invite your
friends and family! THERE IS NO COST FOR THIS EVENT. A free-will collection will
be gathered to help cover the cost of the theater rental. Students should be at the venue
by 6:10 p.m. to prepare.
Please make sure that your child brings
his or her costume items to school by Tuesday as well as the signed permission
slip for the dress rehearsal on Friday, May 13th at 9:00 a.m. if
they have not already done so. (An
attached letter and permission slip regarding costumes, sets and dress
rehearsal was sent home last Monday. Extras are available in the box by the
church/school office.)
Would you like to hone your cake decorating
skills? Sign up for the PTF’s Cake
Decorating Fundraiser this Saturday, May 14th from 10:00 a.m. to noon.
Ana Lederhos (Kindergarten parent) will be teaching the Wilton Method of
Cake Decorating, Five Steps to a Great Cake.
All the proceeds from this class will be donated to the Sprinkler System
Fund. The cost is $30 with supplies and
icing provided. Bring an eight inch cake
ready to be decorated. Sign up soon as
space is limited! Contact Sheila Lillo

Mr. Zarnstorff plans to take his 3rd,
4th and 5th grades class to Potter’s Marsh over a lunch
hour this week, weather permitting. He
will notify students and parents when they plan to go.
PTF’s final meeting of the year is next
week! We will meet on
May 17th at 7pm to finalize plans for the parking lot sale and hold
election of officers for the coming year.
Parents, the school needs your help to succeed. Please consider helping by being an active

Wondering what to do with your unwanted items? Why not set them aside for the Faith Parking Lot Sale on Saturday, May 21st?
Proceeds from this sale will benefit the Sprinkler System Fund. Donations may
be dropped off at the school after May 16th.
Do you still have Boxtops for Education
or Campbell’s Labels? Please
make sure to bring any that you have collected in to school before the final
day of classes. Please keep collecting all summer for next year. Thanks!
