Advent Devotions
Attached
please find this week’s Advent Devotions. (We are still waiting for our
devotional booklets to arrive. We will get them out to families as soon as we
can.) We hope that you are finding these
devotions and the Advent wreath we sent home last week useful in your family’s
preparations during this Advent season. It is our hope that every family in our
school family takes the opportunity to spend time together around God’s Word in
devotion and prayer as we prepare to celebrate Christ’s birth.
Christmas for Kids
This
Saturday, December 12th from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. in the Faith
fellowship hall is Christmas for Kids.
Parents can drop off their children ages 3 (must be potty trained) to 10 years
old for crafts, singing, snacks, games, and the true story of Christmas.

Advent for Families
This
next Sunday evening, December 13th from 6-7 p.m. Faith Lutheran
Church and School would like to invite your family to our third Advent for
Families activity as we make a Christmas wall hanging together. All materials
for the craft will be provided to each family. There will be refreshments, and
we will have with an Advent devotion together.
All
are welcome!
Congratulations to our Huskies boys’ and girls’
basketball teams for their hard work and sportsmanship at the ACSAA tournament
this last weekend. The boys’ team took second place in the tournament. Both
boys and girls played their hardest and let their lights shine. We are proud of
you!
Friday, December 18th
is our school Christmas service, “Did You Know?” presented at 6:30 p.m. in the
recital hall at the UAA Fine Arts Building. This is a school function where the
students will be presenting the service. All Faith students are expected to be
in attendance. Plan to enjoy this special worship opportunity with your family!
Sign
and return the attached permission slip for our rehearsal the morning of the
Christmas service.
Advent
Soup Supper and Worship
This Wednesday, December 9th, we invite you
to join us for our midweek Advent
service at 7:00 p.m. The supper
begins at 6:00 p.m. We ask that you
bring your favorite soup or salad to share. Bread or desserts are also
welcome. Don’t worry if you are unable
to bring anything, come and join us anyway! We look forward to seeing you
there.
You
are invited to join us for our weekly school chapel service this Thursday,
December 10th, from 8:30 to 9:00 a.m. Families
and friends are invited to come and join us in starting our day with the Lord.
Pastor Robbert from King of Kings in Wasilla will lead our chapel service this
week. Our current mission offering is designated for Jesus Cares Ministries.
Toddler Time is an hour
of educational activities, structured play and a snack for children ages 0-5
and their caregivers.
Toddler Time meets Wednesdays from 10-11 a.m. in the Faith fellowship hall. For
more information contact Mrs. Cara Ewings at 907-792-9388.
Junior
Choir meets this week on Wednesday, December 9th at 12:20 p.m.
On
Saturday, December 12th the Junior Choir will sing for Shepherd of
the Hills worship here at Faith at 5:00 p.m. Choir members
should be at Faith by 4:45 p.m. to prepare.
Handchime Choir meets Thursday, December 10th
at 12:30 p.m.
Grades
6-8 will be visiting the Loussac Library on Friday, December 11th.
Students are reminded to bring their library cards and any books that are due.
Faith Parents,
Teachers, and Friends (PTF) will meet Thursday
December 10th at 7:00pm.
Bake Sale – PTF will have a bake
sale on Friday, December 18th at Noon. Please text Tina Henry at 240-0623 to let her
know what you will be donating
