Special thanks on behalf of the school and
church staff to all the school and church families and PTF members who blessed
us with meals, treats and encouragement during Teacher Appreciation this last
week. We thank God for supportive parents and others who are blessings to our
school in so many ways. Thank you!
Please join us for our
weekly chapel service this Thursday, May
15th, from 8:30 to 9:00 a.m. Begin your day with the students of
Faith Lutheran as we worship our Lord together. This week Pastor Ewings will
present a message from God’s Word in Luke 8:30 asking the question, “What’s in a Name?”
We still need some sports
uniforms returned, both the teal and white and the black and white uniforms. Students who
participated in sports this year are asked to get their uniforms back to Mr.
Zarnstorff right away if they have not already done so.
The students of Mr.
Schneck will be going on field trip to release their salmon and visit the
municipal greenhouse and Alaska Museum of Natural History on Tuesday, May 13th.
Students
are asked to bring in their permission slips if they have not already done so,
and to remember to dress for the weather and for walking, and bring money for
lunch or a cold sack lunch that does not need to be microwaved.
There will be a PTF (Parents,
Teachers, and Friends) meeting on Tuesday, May 13th at 6:30 p.m. The purpose of this
meeting is to plan for the school end-of-year picnic and also to elect officers
for the next 2014-2015 school year.
The students of Mr.
Zarnstorff will be spending their lunch hour bird-watching at Potter’s Marsh on
Wednesday, May 14th from 12:00-1:00 p.m. Students are asked
to bring a lunch that does not need to be microwaved and binoculars if
they have them available.
Following the 11:00
a.m. service on Sunday, May18th, the 8th grade graduating class will
receive their diplomas. This year’s graduates are Chloe Robbert, Christian
Bowers,
Jacob Henry, and
Gideon Schneck
We ask God’s
blessings on these students as they move on to high school.
Congratulations,
Graduates!
The Students of FLS
K-8 will be going to the Dome on Friday, May 16th for an Olympics /
field afternoon from 12:00-3:00 p.m. We will be able to run in the field and
play games and sports in their incredible facility, a welcome change from our
asphalt parking lot.
The
students will be divided into teams
school
–wide and will be asked to wear their team color if possible. The upper grades
will assign the teams and let the students know their team color.
Please
sign and return the permission slip sent home last Friday along with $5 if you have not already
done so.
The students of Mrs.
Zarnstorff (grades 1-2) will be running a lemonade stand next week Tuesday, May
20th from 3:15-3:45 p.m. at the school entrance. The proceeds from
this sale will be given to Bean’s CafĂ©. The price for the lemonade will be a
free-will donation.
SPRING PARKING LOT
SALE
Camp
Luther and Faith PTF are allowing the teens to run our spring parking lot
sale, which is now scheduled for
Saturday, May 24th due to a conflict with our summer
construction plans for the facility. Faith
teens are asking for your donations to help them raise funds to help cover the
cost of their attendance at the WELS International Youth Rally in June!
They are willing to
pick up your gently used items as donations for the sale. Do you have junk to
get rid of? They will take that too and gladly haul it away for a free-will
donation. They may even be able to arrange some spring cleaning help for you. Contact Mr. Schneck
at 331-7761 and he will arrange for some delightful and energetic teens to
serve you.
Do you use a Fred
Meyer card? Your purchases can help earn money for our school. Thirteen families
have already raised $362 for our school! If you would like to join them, please
visit www.fredmeyer.com/communityrewards to sign up. Thanks!
