Service
You are invited to join us for our weekly chapel service
this Thursday, December 11th from 8:30 to 9:00 a.m. Our chapel
service message will be presented by Pastor Oldfield. This week’s theme: Living
for Jesus Trusting in God (Gideon). Families and friends are invited to come
join us in starting our day with the Lord.
If classes are
cancelled due to weather conditions, announcements will be posted on our
as
well as on our Faith Lutheran School Facebook page. PLEASE NOTE: WE DO NOT
AUTOMATICALLY CLOSE WHEN ASD SCHOOLS CLOSE. If ASD is closed we may yet be
open. Please call the school office or Mr. Schneck at 331-7761 if you are
uncertain.
Calendar Correction
There was an error on the school year calendar
distributed at the beginning of the school year. In February of 2015 the two
days of for the Alaska Conference of Pastor and Teachers that was scheduled on
the calendar for February 2 and 3 should instead be February 12 and 13. Again,
we will be having school classes on February 2 and 3. There will be no school classes on February 12 and 13. My apologies
for the error.
Grade 3-5 Field Trip
Grades
3-5 will be attending Alaska Junior Theater’s Otherwise Known as Sheila the Great at the Performing Arts
Center on Friday, December 12th. Mr. Zarnstorff has two spots for
chaperones available if any parents would like to join them. Please contact him
if you are interested in attending with the class.
Advent
Soup Supper and Worship
This Wednesday, December 10th, we invite you
to join us for our midweek Advent
service at 7:00 p.m. There will be
a soup supper in the fellowship hall
prior to the service. The supper begins at 6:00 p.m. We ask that you bring your favorite soup or
salad to share. Bread or desserts are also welcome. Don’t worry if you are unable to bring
anything, come and join us anyways! We look forward to seeing you there.
Winter is here…
Please
MAKE SURE that your child has the proper clothing for recess EVERY DAY:

winter coat
·
hat
·
gloves
·
snow
boots
Please
check your child before they leave your home in the morning AND before they get
out of the car to make sure they have everything they need.
Do you need winter clothing or have winter
clothing that you no longer need? A Winter Clothing Exchange is taking place in the fellowship hall from now
until December 22nd. Please see the attached flyer for details.
We also have used uniform shirts, pants, and jumpers available in various sizes. They
are in a box on the exchange table. Please feel free to help yourself.
PTF
Thank You! to those who organized, donated and assisted with Christmas for Kids and the PTF Sale and Basket Auction on Saturday. Thank you for being a blessing!
PTF is still wanting for opinions on new sport uniforms for the school. What do you think would work best for the school? Contact Sheila Lillo at the office or write a note expressing your ideas to send to school with your child.
Don’t forget to come to the PTF meeting Tuesday evening to discuss upcoming activities, fundraisers and sport uniforms.
