Chapel Service

You are invited to join us for our weekly chapel service this Thursday, January 15^th from 8:30 to 9:00 a.m. Our chapel service message will be presented Mr. Zarnstorff. This week’s theme: Living for Jesus Means Talking to Him (Daniel).Families and friends are invited to come join us in starting our day with the Lord.

Report cards for the second quarter we distributed last Friday.

Parents, please sign and return the accompanying envelope. If you have any questions about your child’s 2^nd Quarter report, please feel free to set up a meeting with your child’s teacher.

Junior Choir and Hanchime Choir

Junior Choir resumes practices this Wednesday, January 14^th at 12:20 p.m. Handchime choir will resume practices this Thursday, January 15^th at 12:30 p.m.

Co-ed Volleyball

Practice this week on Tuesday, January 13^th and Thursday, January 15^th. On Friday, January 16^th, the team will have its first round of games at a rally night at Lumen Christi from 4:00-7:00 p.m.

Players, please remember your knee pads!

Here’s a run-down of the rest of the month’s rally nights as scheduled at this time:

Friday, Jan. 23 - @ Lumen Christi  4-7 p.m.

Basketball Parents

You should receive an email regarding the trip to the Evergreen Basketball Tournament.  Please reply to the email promptly.

  

Library Visit

Grades 6-8 will be visiting the Loussac Library this Friday, January 16^th. Students are reminded to bring their library cards and any books that need to be returned.

There will be no school classes on Monday, January 19^th for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Spelling Bee

Our school spelling bee takes place a week from Wednesday on January 21^st in the fellowship hall. The students in grades K-2 will have their own classroom competitions, while grades 3-8 will compete in the school bee at 1:00 p.m. Parents are invited to attend.

Art Fair

Our Faith Lutheran School Art Fair is Friday, February 6^st!

All entries need to be submitted for judging by Tuesday, February 3^rd. We hope to have EVERY student participate with one or more entries. (Students are allowed up to three entries.) If you have any questions, please refer to the guidelines included with the Art Fair flyer that was sent home before Christmas break (extra copies are available in the box by the office), or speak to Mr. Schneck.

100^th Day Activity

On Tuesday, January 27^th, to celebrate our 100^th day of school, the students of grades K-8 will be making a trip to the Planetarium at UAA. The cost of this field trip is $5. We also have a limited number of seats available to parents who would like to attend this event. A permission slip for this event will be sent out later this week.

School Pictures

Group photos were taken today of the school classes. Individual photos have already been taken for the school yearbook. Electronic copies of your child’s photos will be made available soon. You will be notified when they are ready.

PTF

The next PTF meeting is Tuesday, January 20^th at 6:30.

Wildtree Freezer Meal Workshop

This is a fundraising event for PTF.  On Saturday January 31^st at 10:00am Tricia Hackmann will host a Wildtree Freezer Meal Workshop in the Fellowship Hall.  In this workshop you will prepare either 6 or 10 meals to take home to your freezer.   You must RSVP to receive full instructions and to ensure enough products will be on hand.   What a fantastic way to support your school and make some great dinners.  See the attached flyer for complete information and how to RSVP.

Labels for Education

The Labels for Education you have been collecting can be sent in for our January Bonus Collection.  Please send them in with your child, this includes Pepperidge Farms product UPCs.  Thank you for saving them.
