He’s Out to Get You!
Have you ever heard that phrase spoken
to you? Maybe it was a co-worker warning you that the boss was on the warpath
and was looking for you. Maybe it was one of your friends telling you that
another friend was seeking you out to collect on a debt you owed. Usually it
comes as an ominous warning and sometimes causes you to worry about what is
coming.
There is someone out to get each of us
and he is far worse than a boss or an upset friend! He is out to get your soul
for eternity. He is powerful and full of guile, and never does he let on that
he is your worst enemy. He is Satan and he wants all people to join him in
everlasting punishment, complete separation from God. By ourselves, there is no
way we can escape from this terrible enemy.
But Jesus is also out to get you, all
of us. He stated that as His reason for coming into the world. When talking to
Zacchaeus, He said, “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was
lost.” Luke 19:10. Jesus reaches out for the lost with his Word. He teaches us
about his love for us and His desire that we spend eternity with Him in His
heaven. He shows us His love when we learn what He did to save us from our
sins. He gives us faith to receive that blessing of new life with him.
Throughout the year I will be sharing
that message of His love with you in our weekly note. He is out to get you for
good!

Emergency Preparedness
Every
year at this time we review our plan for emergency situations at our school. If
an emergency such as an earthquake or other disaster would occur, plans and
material supplies are in place to provide for the safety and security of our
students, as well as first aid and extended care in the event that students
cannot be immediately picked up by their parents.
In
order to help us in this, we ask each family to prepare a small “comfort kit”
for your child, with small items to provide comfort and to help keep them
occupied and calm in an emergency situation. We are sending home a small Ziploc
bag today. Pack your child’s comfort kit with a card containing your child’s
name and contact information and other small items for your child’s
comfort. Suggestions include a
non-perishable snack (like a granola bar), a pair of knit gloves, a family
picture, a small toy, and a letter to your child.
Comfort
kits can be brought to your child’s teacher at any time, and will be returned
at the end of the school year.
School Uniforms
Looking for a used uniform? There are uniform shirts and pants available
in the office all this week. Used
uniforms are free, first come basis. New
uniforms may be purchased at FrenchToast.com using school code QS5KJUH. Pants can be purchased locally if you’d
rather not order them from FrenchToast.
Bible Information Class
A child’s Christian education is only
as good as the cooperation between parents and teachers. To this end, we feel strongly that all
parents need to hear our fundamental beliefs and understand the basic doctrines
that all of our school children are taught.
Therefore, we invite parents of school children to attend Pastor Ewings’
“Making Life Better Class” beginning Monday, September 10. This class is an
extensive review of the basic doctrines taught in the Bible and, therefore, in
this school. Parents who complete the class will receive a $500 discount on
their child’s tuition for each of three years after completing the class.

Rewards Programs
If you have been saving Boxtops over
the summer, there is a collection envelope on the bulletin board by the school
entrance, or you can give them to Mrs. Zarnstorff. If you haven’t been saving them, now’s the
time to start! Our goal for this year is
to turn in $1000 worth of Boxtops. Will
you help us reach our goal?
