Stay on the Road!
We took a drive down to Seward
yesterday. It was a beautiful day for a drive. The sun was out, barely any
clouds in the sky. The roads were dry and traffic was pretty light on the way
down. The van ran well and we had no problems. But is that how it always works
out?
Over the years, we have experienced
all sort of different trips to Seward. We have experienced rainy days in
Seward, with the rain coming at you sideways. We have had journeys interrupted
by car problems. Many were the years that we had to drive through construction
or wait in long lines for the pilot cars to guide us through the construction.
More than once we have been stuck for an hour or more because of a serious
accident.
As we make our journey through this
life, we will have good days and bad days. Days when things go well, days when
God seems to be smiling on us. We will also have some days when nothing is
going our way. These days may cause us to wonder if God really loves us.
For all the days of our lives, we need
to remember the words of the psalmist, ”Your Word is a lamp for my feet and a
light for my path.” Ps. 119:105. God guides our lives for our good and His
glory, He keeps us on His road.
Cross Country
We will continue practicing this week on
Tuesday and Thursday at Waldron Park. Transportation
to the park and back will be provided. Students
will be back at Faith Lutheran School by 5:15pm or may be picked up at the park
at 5:00pm.
TADS
Tuition Agreements
We still have
several families who have not completed their tuition agreement in TADS. If you are one of them, please check your
email for instructions on how to complete your agreement.
Hand
Chimes
Hand chime choir members will begin
practicing this Thursday, Sep. 6th during lunch recess from 12:30pm to 1:00pm.
Chili Kick-Off & Housewarming
Welcome
We have the Chili Kick-Off happening
on Saturday, Sept. 8, at 5:30pm to kick off the new school year and welcome our
new kindergarten teacher. Everyone is encouraged to create a unique, amazing
chili and we'll have a friendly competition to vote for the best one ($1 per
vote... bring plenty of cash!).
Following
our chili dinner, we'll give our new teacher, Heidi Kruger, a housewarming
welcome. She's registered at Target (search for her name to see her wish
list!). Bring your chili, bring a gift, and enjoy an evening of fellowship!
Bible Information Class
A child’s Christian education is only
as good as the cooperation between parents and teachers. To this end, we feel strongly that all
parents need to hear our fundamental beliefs and understand the basic doctrines
that all of our school children are taught.
Therefore, we invite parents of school children to attend Pastor Ewings’
“Making Life Better Class” beginning next Monday, September 10. This class is
an extensive review of the basic doctrines taught in the Bible and, therefore,
in this school. Parents who complete the class will receive a $500 discount on
their child’s tuition for each of three years after completing the class.
September Birthdays
