Chapel Service
You are invited to join us for our weekly chapel service
this Thursday, September 25th, from 8:30 to 9:00 a.m. This week Mr.
Zarnstorff will be leading our worship. This week’s message: Living
for Jesus Means Carrying a Cross (Simon of Cyrene). Our mission offerings
this year will be donated to our synods work with gospel ministry in India,
particularly to children. Families and friends are invited to come join us in
starting our day with the Lord.
Cross Country Running
Students Danny Price,
Josh Lillo, Megan Lillo and Olivia Zanto ran in Saturday’s ACSAA Cross Country
Meet at Eagle River Lion’s Park. Josh Lillo took 5th place in his
division! Congratulations to our team for their hard work, and thanks to Mr.
Zarnstorff for coaching the team!
Boys’ and Girls’ Basketball (grades 5-8) begins Tuesday,
September 23rd .
Basketball is open to
students in grades 5-8. Permission slips were sent home with interested
students last week. Students who are interested in participating but do not
have a permission slip should speak to Mr. Zarnstorff.
We can also use some
coaching assistance if there are parents interested in helping us out. Parents,
please speak to Mr. Zarnstorff if you have any questions or are willing to
help.
Our Harvest Carnival
theme this year is “Around the World”. PTF (Parent, Teachers and Friends) will
hold a planning meeting on Tuesday, September 23rd at 6:30 p.m. to
begin planning for the October 24th event. All are invited to help
us plan out this activity for our school and church children. Please contact
PTF president Mary Klebs for more information.
Thanks, PTF for last
week’s delicious hot lunch!
The Weather is
Getting Colder…
Please
MAKE SURE that your child has a winter coat, hat and gloves for use at recess
when it becomes necessary. Include boots when it rains or when the snow starts
to fly.
Next week, September 29th to October 3rd, the
students in grades 3 to 8 will be participating in Terra Nova and Inview standardized testing. These tests allow us to compare our students’ abilities with students
from our fellow synod schools as well as students in public and private
education across the U.S. There is no advance studying necessary for these
tests, but it is important that the students are well rested and have a proper
breakfast and lunch to allow them to put forth their best efforts and give us
an accurate assessment of their skills.
If you have any further questions about these tests,
please speak to your child’s teacher or Mr. Schneck.
