PTF  Meeting
Our Parents, Teachers, and Friends (PTF) will have their first meeting this Wednesday, September 3rd  at 6:30 p.m. to discuss activities for the year, especially plans for Harvest Carnival. Parents, please take the time to participate. Please contact PTF president Mary Klebs if you have any questions.

We are still waiting for earthquake comfort kits for some students. Please return your child’s comfort kit if you have not already done so.

Parking Lot Sale
Coming up on Saturday, September 6th is our PTF/Camp Luther Fall Parking Lot Sale!
The sale will be from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. We can use all the help we can get setting up, taking down, and running the sale in-between. Please contact PTF president Mary Klebs or Camp Luther Director Stacy Koenig if you are interested in helping out.
Do you have any items that you would like to donate? Please bring any donations to the school at any time. Items can be left in the fellowship hall, or in the case of larger items, speak to Mr. Schneck and we will find a place for them. Any items gently used will be welcome: clothing, toys, household goods, books, tools, etc. (Please no tube TVs or computer monitors.)
Proceeds of this sale benefit school ministry through the PTF and Camp Luther Alaska.

The Faith Lutheran Social Studies Fair is coming up in a little more than a month.
This year’s Social Studies Fair will be a “Night at the Museum” event on Friday, October 10th. Students will portray an important historical figure from any period of time as if they were that person. Students can start thinking about who they might like to present for this year’s fair. The person must be an actual person (no mythological figures), someone of historical significance (no movies or TV stars, no rock stars) and must be someone no longer living. Guidelines will be sent home later in the week.

Picture Day Cancelled
Following the discussion at our parent orientation meeting last Thursday, the Education Committee has decided not to use an outside service for school photographs this year. The PTF and the school yearbook staff will be working together on a plan to take photographs in-house and come up with a way to share them with the school family. Please disregard the school photography day previously scheduled.

Thanks to those families that participated in the Fred Meyer Community Rewards program this last year. The participation of twenty families raised $656.10 in rewards for our school so far in 2014. Do you have a Fred Meyer Rewards card? Signing up for community rewards can earn our school donations from Fred Meyer when you use your card. Visit www.fredmeyer.com/communityrewards to sign up.  (Faith Lutheran School NPO #91844)
