Parent Connection October 13th Issue #9

Chapel Service
You are invited to join us for our weekly chapel service this Thursday, October 16th, from 8:30 to 9:00 a.m. This week Mr. Schneck  will be leading our worship. This week’s message:  Living for Jesus Means Looking Forward to Heaven.  Families and friends are invited to come join us in starting our day with the Lord.
For the next three chapel services we will be collecting our mission offerings for a special project.  On October 23rd our chapel service message will be presented by Missionary Doug Weiser.  Pastor Weiser serves in Nigeria.  This special collection will be combined with mission offerings from Grace Lutheran School in Kenai and the offering at our area Reformation Service on October 26th for the purchase of a motorcycle for the Nigerian Pastors to use when visiting mission stations in the bush, as roads are often difficult or impassable at certain times of the year.  Please remember our brother and sister believers in Nigeria in your prayers.

Boys’ and Girls’ Basketball have games this week.
Tuesday, October 14th the boys and girls will play a co-ed game at 4:15 p.m. @ St. John’s United Methodist Church vs. Holy Rosary Academy. The boys’ and girls’ teams will be playing games at Stringer Memorial Gym in Wasilla vs. Wasilla Lake on Thursday, October 16th. The girls’ game takes place at 5:00 p.m. and the boys’ game is at 6:00 p.m. GO Huskies!

There will be a Harvest Carnival work night on Wednesday, October 15th from 6:30-8:30 p.m. You are invited to come for any part of or the entire time. We can use any interested and available persons to help us put together a great evening of fun for our school and church family. We still need volunteers to run some of our Harvest Carnival activities. We are also asking for donations of candy for the Harvest Carnival and baked treats for our cakewalk.
Candy donations can be brought at any time and left in the school office. Cakes, cupcakes, caramel apples, and any creations fit for our cake walk can be brought to school from Tuesday, October 21st and left in the kitchen. Please label items left  “For Cake Walk”.
Our “AROUND THE WORLD” Harvest Carnival takes place on October 24th from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Interested in helping out? Please speak to PTF president Mary Klebs (727-2326).
