Thoughts of Spring
I don’t know about you, but the
weather is starting to get to me. This morning I woke up from dreaming about
some springtime activities. It is way too early to be thinking about planting
the garden and mowing the lawn. It may not be too early to think about fishing,
but just because the temperature has been above freezing and the snow piles are
starting to yield their hold on the parking area, it doesn’t mean that it is
spring. Even though the calendar says that tomorrow is the first day of spring,
from experience, I can assure you that you should look for a few more weeks of
winter weather (like about six more). I don’t want anyone to be disappointed
when the flakes continue to fall.
Thoughts of springtime do bring to
mind a hope that each of us has, one that will never be a disappointment.
Springtime is a time of new life, and reminds us of the new life that is ours
as a blessing of the faith we have been given. We experience this new life as
we make our way through our daily activities even though we may face trials and
troubles of many kinds. We will experience this new life fully when our Savior
returns to take us to our eternal home. This new life can never disappoint us!
